Year one enjoyed a sunny day at the botanic garden in Leicester! The favourite activity of the day was pond dipping but we also explored the tropical/ desert greenhouses and planted our own seeds as well as hunting for mini-beasts! It was a fabulous day enjoyed by all.
Our topic this term is Why is water precious? We explored why water is important to animals and where we can find water in the world and local areas using maps. We even went for a walk around the school to look for good places for frogs to live! We also have our own tadpoles in the class so we can watch them grow into frogs and see how they change. Later this term we will go pond dipping at Brocks Hill and we can't wait!
